How to Choose Photos for a Hotel Lobby AI Character Swap

Prepare two reference photos for a Hotel Lobby AI character swap. Learn how to choose framing, assign roles and check your images before spending credits.

A Hotel Lobby AI character swap starts with two reference images, one for each performer. Before you generate, decide who belongs in each role and choose photos that make that casting easy to read. A reference can guide identity and clothing, but it does not guarantee an exact likeness in every frame.

Start with one subject per photo

Use a separate image for each character. If your favorite picture shows two friends together, crop a copy for each person before uploading. Keep the intended subject's face visible and remove as much of the other person as possible.

Imagine a duet with you and a friend: your portrait goes in Photo 1 and your friend's portrait goes in Photo 2. This is a casting example, not a generated result. You can check the starting roles in the Hotel Lobby AI template preview.

Choose a recognizable face before choosing an outfit

Look for a face that is large enough to inspect, with useful detail around the eyes, nose and mouth. Avoid heavy blur, a face hidden by a hand, or a distant subject occupying a tiny part of the image. Even lighting makes it easier to see what information the reference contains.

A waist-up or full-body photo can also show the outfit and silhouette you want to reference. If the face becomes too small in a wide photo, try a closer image. A full-body reference is an option, not a requirement for a successful result. The best framing depends on which details you want to preserve.

Match the image to the role

Photo 1 is assigned to the original performer who starts on the viewer's left. Photo 2 is assigned to the performer who starts on the right. The role follows that performer through the clip; it does not switch whenever someone crosses the frame.

Decide the order before submitting. If you want your friend in the first role, put their photo in Photo 1. Read the character-swap guide for the difference between a character replacement and a facial overlay.

Use these checks before Generate

  • Can you identify one intended subject in each upload preview?
  • Are both faces visible without zooming into an indistinct blur?
  • Does each image show the clothing information you care about?
  • Are the two photos assigned to the intended starting roles?
  • Have you checked the selected quality and displayed credit cost?

Keep a copy of the references you used so you can compare them with the completed clip. If you retry, change one weak reference at a time. That makes it easier to judge whether the new photo helped; another generation still uses credits.

What if the result does not resemble the photos?

Review more than the opening frame. Look at a head turn, a hand passing near the face, and the ending. If identity is weak only during movement, swapping upload order may not help. If the roles are reversed from the start, check the order first.

Use the role and likeness troubleshooting guide to separate those problems. When you are ready, open the two-photo video generator. Free previews and paid generation are explained in the credit guide.
